The ascenders have a little thumb lever for descending, however you have to take tension off the device and reverse your sequence for descending. Ascending requires positive effort and descending requires negative effort. Like doing a pull-up / squat combo when ascending and a negative pull-up (Lower)/ bent knee hanging crunch combo when descending. I have been doing 10 laps, 5 laps left handed & 5 laps right handed to balance out the excercise. I purchased a 7/16" static rappel rope for this project.
I enjoy hard work-outs and pushing my physical limitations to the next level. My preferences in training are kettlebells, sandbags and body weight training. My training carries over to my favorite past times. I also enjoy my time with my children (that are all grown up) and friends.
I never thought of using ascenders to decend a rope.
ReplyDeleteWhat size static rope do you use?
